Erasmus Plus 2024 | Single Moms

Socio-Cultural and Psychological Support for Single Moms

Welcome to the official webpage of myJUMP's participation in the Erasmus+ project "5Star Single MomS." This project focuses on empowering adult educators to support single mothers through innovative educational approaches. By blending social, psychological, and technological tools, the project aims to address the unique challenges faced by single moms in modern society.

Project Overview:

The 5Star Single MomS project is a collaborative initiative involving partners from Slovakia, Greece, Germany, and Turkey. It is designed to train adult educators in creating educational and psychological modules specifically targeted at helping single mothers. This training helps educators better equip single moms to navigate major life stressors, such as divorce and social isolation, using both socio-cultural and digital resources.

Objectives:

  • Equip adult educators with the tools to support single moms using psychological and technological approaches.
  • Develop educational modules that blend cognitive and socio-cultural support methods.
  • Address the emotional and social needs of single moms through innovative therapy tools.
  • Promote the development of digital competencies in adult education related to psychological support.

Key Project Activities:

  1. Workshops for Educators:
    • myJUMP.sk will host a transnational workshop in Bratislava from October 15–17, 2024, bringing together 18 adult educators. These workshops will focus on creating blended therapy modules for single mothers, synthesizing insights from previous activities.
  2. Non-formal Learning Approach:
    • All workshops will use interactive and non-formal learning methods to foster practical skills in educators. Topics include:
      • Day 1: Analysis of socio-cultural and technological tools for therapy.
      • Day 2: Matching therapy achievements with the needs of single mothers.
      • Day 3: Synthesizing tools for better outcomes.

Target Group:

The project is primarily aimed at adult educators who work in institutions providing key competencies to adults. Through this initiative, educators will gain new skills in offering therapy and consulting services to single moms, enabling them to handle their life challenges more effectively.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Creation of a blended therapy module for single mothers that can be used across Europe.
  • Strengthening of adult educators' competencies in using technological tools for emotional support.
  • Increased social and psychological resilience among single moms.

Partners:

  • Akyurt District Directorate of National Education (Turkey)

Summary of each of the 5 key activities in the project:

1. SIRIUS (Greece)

This preparatory activity focuses on developing checklists, communication plans, and monitoring frameworks for the project. It also includes public relations activities and selection criteria for the adult educators involved in the project. Key methods include brainstorming, focus groups, and interactive decision-making processes. The aim is to set the foundation for the successful implementation of the project.

2. CANOPUS (Virtual)

The goal of this activity is to inform adult educators about the challenges faced by single mothers, both socially and psychologically. Partners will create an awareness guide using androgogic research, designed to help educators understand and address the needs of single moms more effectively. The guide will be shared both locally and internationally.

3. RIGIL KENTAURUS (Germany)

This training course focuses on transferring social-technological activities to adult educators that can support single moms. Participants will be introduced to social activities designed to mitigate the negative effects of being a single mother. The training will be hands-on and include the creation of time-management tools and social activity plans to support single moms.

4. ARCTURUS (Virtual)

This activity centers on developing psychological support tools for single moms, leveraging technology such as online classes, digital applications, and multi-sensory tools. Adult educators will research local psychological resources and work together to pilot digital tools, adding successful solutions to a digital library of resources that can be shared across the project.

5. VEGA (Slovakia)

The main objective of this activity is to create a technological consulting and therapy module blended with socio-cultural and psychological approaches for single moms. The workshop, held in Bratislava, will bring together adult educators to synthesize their learnings into therapy materials that can be used both locally and internationally.
